SAP Live at DoubleH Nurseries

16/05/2007

ISB have gone live with SAP Business One for DoubleH (DH) Nurseries in New Milton, Dorset.

DoubleH is a High Quality Producer of Flowering Houseplants to major supermarkets in the UK. Effective Stock and Warehouse management is critcal to their business, and was not currently available with their existing Sage product.

SAP Business One provides DH with a Fully Integrated ERP solution including Stock, Production, MRP, AR, AP, Finance and Reporting.

Key to the solution was SAP's MRP system (Material Requirements Planning) which holds and forecasts Supply and Demand planning, by product, by customer by week.

This automatically manages Supply Procurement, as well as driving Production orders BOM's to produce the finished product. This in turn fulfils their Sales Orders, while automatically back-flushing (depleting) the stocks of raw materials.

This combined with SAP's EDI component to automatically upload customer sales orders, and dispatch the final invoice back via EDI for payment.

The planned Stage 2, includes further automation of their warehouse (glasshouses) management using handheld devices.

The UK fresh cut flower and indoor plant market is worth £2.2 billion at retail level. To put this in perspective, the UK music industry is worth around £2 billion.

This represents an average spend per person per year of £36 (£28 on flowers and £8 on plants).
